  ummm...question re my mothers status...she got dfd 3 months ago and expected to be shunned.

  indeed, i told her she would be shunned.. but she reckons that everyone is being real nice, talking to her in the street, etc, has there been a change of policy?.

  ive been out a long time and would have expected shunning.. shes starting to think of me as a false prophet.

  Never thought Id live to see it.Yet another compromise with the world.
  My little Mormon friends reckon their church is softening up too.
  Somethings goin on here...a shift to ecumenicalism perhaps.

  I havent read the posts in this thread, too long.
  However here is my opinion.
  There is NOT too much fluff on the board.If people wanna post fluff, let them.
  The problem is this.
  Serious threads that rapidly DETERIORATE into fluff.
  The threads need to be seperated.
  Fluff room, in which you can post anything.
  Serious room in which thou mayest not post fluff.This room is for subjects of a serious bent.

  Ive just run off a copy of a freddie franz speech from 1975 for kenny2.
  Its the big "Eve delay" announcement talk.
  Fred explains , at length, that the big A may be delayed because of the time lapse between the creation of Adam and the creation of Eve.
  Next speaker up on the platform is Nathan Knorr who tells us how much Jehovahs organization has GROWN during the period of the 75 expectation, thus the prediction has Gods "blessing".

  I Don't Sympathise With Suicides

  let me explain.. firstly i have seen any number of so-called attempted suicides.

  i've walked past an old girl friends house, seen her watching tv through the window, by the time i'm knocking on the door she's told me that she had her head in the gas oven and my knock stopped her.. my mother in law walks into the sea for a pastime.

  every time she can't get her own way she walks in up to her knees and waits for someone to see her.

  Are these Samaritans then going to send the lad a letter telling him that they think he was faking? And publish that letter on the local bulletin board? Let the whole neighbourhood know?
  Are they going to send him a list of the gags that they cracked while discussing his plight? Posting them on the local bulletin board also?

  How does he FEEL about himself now?
  What does he think everybody else thinks about him?

  I'll bet Kevin feels a lot better now after his foolishness the other day and now all this criticism of his behaviour. All this analysis by experts that has worked out that he was faking and seeking attention.
  Dont let it bother you Kevin, if you're ever feeling like pretending to commit suicide again just to get some attention, or even if your'e serious, I will still try to talk you out of it.
  Isnt that what this boards here for?

  There are No Annointed Ones

  i've been reading posts to this forum for about four months, and i've been continually struck by the extraordinary number of forum members who consistently spell "anointed" incorrectly as "annointed.

  " i estimate that only one time in four is this word spelled correctly in this forum, when it should be ten times in ten.. now, i would be the last to suggest that any of us should ever try to police the spelling of other posters, since what really matters is the message, not the spelling, but this is an extremely important word in jehovah land--or am i wrong about that?

  probably no one will care very much if a current or former jw misspells most other words, but not spelling "anointed" correctly, given its extraordinary importance within the jehovah's witnesses' culture, would seem to be no more excusable than not spelling "jehovah" correctly.

  Well this seems very strange.You say there is no change, but they are being friendly, indeed, according to her, going out of their way.
  Id sure like the opinion of a resident site expert, like Farkelman or Amazing...but theyve all abandoned us. Who speaketh expert opinion now to edify the lost sheep on this site!?
  Perhaps the Godlike 'mindchild' might descend from yon lofty,olympian intellectual heights and deem fit to become father and oracle unto us all.
